@nannetteralphs9042last year That' s actually kind of a lot. I' ll put a third of that for most small things i cook, just enough to coat the pan. It' s good to know that' s only 33 cals. 108
  • @
@riseofthefallen3012 years ago Some of that oil will still be left in the pan though. 157
  • @
@bruh-lt5bi2 years ago I' m fine with an extra 100 cals if it makes my food taste 100x better. 757
  • @
@josee198411 months ago This man really thought he could measure 12ml of oil on his scale. Density of water and oil are different ding dong. 15
  • @
@allycat959211 months ago I mean, that' s all italians and greeks cook with, and they have an average life expectancy of 82 years. So they must be doing something right. 18
  • @
@atilovez2 years ago I typically use less than the amount you poured of olive oil when i cook. 123
  • @
@Derek-Hickslast year Make sure its extra virgin olive oil and use as much as you like, would be my advice for weight loss. 9
  • @
@shayp35582 years ago Olive oil is a really healthy fat. Please dont criminalize food. 36
  • @
@samjones4474last year I had olive oil for 7 weeks straight on a weight loss diet and lost 22 pounds. 88
  • @
@happyfisherman443211 months ago You measured that wrong but. Water and oil have different weights per ml. 3
  • @
@andrewlin895811 months ago Dont use any type of oil spray just eat like a normal human. 3
  • @

  • @
@jerolvilladolid11 months ago Its 100 calories if you drizzle it in a salad. But if you cook with it most of the oil will be left in the pan or evaporate. 1

@vibonaccilast year It looks like more than i would have expected. 13

@proffesorDublast year Thats a fair amount of oil, if your batch cooking, say a meal of 4 portions, thats 25cal per portion (using bud maths/volume)
thats a numbe id="hidden5"r of calories i think most can handle, but sure, use a spray full of loads of chemicals

@bombdotcomist2 years ago 100 calories of oil is alot of oil. Its only because youre putting it on a wide plate like that it looks small.
and olive oil is extremely healthy for you. Not everythings j about calories.

  • @
@alexcauston28222 years ago That' s exactly why i use olive oil. I would waste away if i didn' t eat it. 8
  • @
@tativizca468711 months ago 1) most people dont use that much oil
    2) 100 calories isnt much
    - from a person that lost 40 lbs and never gave up olive oil.

@davidb99412 years ago Is that scale measuring grams or ml? I dont think they are equivalent and i dont know that my scale measures in ml. 33
  • @
@coolerFILMS2 years ago Those 1 calorie sprays have ridiculous serving sizes. In reality most spray oils will add about 50 cals for an average spray. 15
  • @
@charuseTVlast year I use butter, tastes better than any oil. 3

@bignoel32last year You don' t use all the oil in the pan, you don' t need much of the oil and olive oil is actually a very healthy option to cook with natural good fats in it and the amount you showed is not accurate either. 1
  • @
@weelewism84422 years ago Tbh when frying chicken, a 1 cal spray won' t work unless sprayed tons of times anyway lol so i would prefer just adding 50 calories to my dish. 2
  • @
@ITSOVER9000notes11 months ago Yikes. Please do not cut healthy fats when cutting. Also, the oil is just to base the pan, you are definitely not drinking from the skillet lmao. 1
  • @

@bleachnbones71079 months ago Unrelated but as an italian seeing that clear bottle made my skin crawl. For the love of god get yourself a dark glass one, it' s not frying oil. 1
  • @
@eulaguider21last year I add that amount with a tablespoon of melted butter to pour onto a large bowl of homemade popcorn. Which is very satiating. 1
  • @
@pandamilkshakelast year I' m spanish/greek. You take my olive oil away and i can' t cook my countries' foods. 1
  • @
@Abcdefjh927last year Thats why its better to cook a lot of food with this amount of oil. So its multiple meals and you dont eat all of this oil in 1 meal. Living with fa id="hidden10"mily makes it easier since the food is all going to be distributed between the family members, and also the calories. But if you live alone its harder because you have to pay more attention or just do meal prep. ...Expand 1
  • @
@smaswqa4208last year Its actually not that much calories (based on the label) but fda allows for 20% marginal error in calorie calculation so that same amount is probably around 120 not 100.
  • @
@oscardanson7127last year 12 ml = 12 g in water not in olive oil because olive oil is more dense than water so it would actually be a bit less than that.

@boblangford551411 months ago Except sprays ruin your nonstick pans. Instead, drizzle some oil on the pan, then rub the oil into your pan using a napkin. The napkin will absorb the excess oil you dont need. 1
  • @
@shahadmerani31164 months ago I avoid olive oil at all costs because the amount of calories in one tea spoon alone is just insane.

@ketorising812 years ago If youre spraying those sprays for 8-10 seconds, its worse. Those nutrition facts on those bottles are for 1/3 of a second. 3
  • @
@josiahcruz96782 years ago That' s actually more than i would use to lube up a pan, plus i rarely add extra after cooking unless it' s pizza or bread, in which i' m not concerned with calories at that point. 1
  • @
@weevil80259 months ago I just avoid oil all together, and i don' t feel bad about it. If i want olive oil, i' ll eat olives in their whole form, same with any other plant oil.

@clementineslaughter69049 months ago This is awesome because i need to gain weight. No one told me i could easily add more calories with oil. Genius.
  • @
@kribble2 years ago The " 1 calorie spray" is the same exact oil. The reason it' scalories is because you' re supposedly using less. If that' s your goal, use less oil.
  • @
@MssNeetusharmalast year Sweetie. Just avoid plastic bottle oil packet. Try glass bottle olive oil extra virgin. Cold press.

@rnjbond10 months ago I' d prefer real extra virgin olive oil versus processed canola oil spray.
  • @
@sloeginandsleep1170last year Related point, oils are not created equal. Olive oil is one of the healthiest fats available and is beneficial (in moderation) for your health. One cal and that is way too much oil to cook pretty much anything. I used that much when i' m batch cooking enough ragu to make 10 portions. ...Expand

  • @
@lsgsrob21022 years ago You realize that the serving size for spray oil goes by the 100s of a second. Either way you do it, it may be 100 calories unless you are actually being accurate.
  • @
@joeramos4489last year Yo that' s a good amount of oil. Enough to coat some potatoes or broccoli. 1
  • @
@Daniel__2005last year Ignore this advice guys. Whether ur trying to lose weight or gain weight it doesnt matter just use olive oil when cooking, u dont need a huge amount u just need some olive oil for it to taste nice. 4

@Marc1899-_-2 years ago Olive oil spray is truly a game changer. 6
  • @
@allergictohumansnotanimals5671last year If you wanna reduce calories take out sugar from your diet, not healthy fats. Olive oil is needed.
  • @
@pkstar4641last year I eat a table spoon a day and the benefits out weigh extra calories for example lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases and even dementia.

@dominicdecoco7950last year Im an advocate for oil substitutes but in a meal prep scenario 100-200 cals of olive oil is fine spread across say 5 meals.

@AKIRA__11 months ago You know 12ml of water = 12grams of water, but the same doesn' t imply to oil.
  • @
@mohammed.b87132 years ago This is not olive oil, olive oil is green. 1
  • @
@theRealJohnErtel11 months ago Exceptfats in olive oil are associated with a longer lifespan. 100 calories of olive oil per day will extend your life as long as you' re not overconsuming calories.
  • @
@GigaNigga1111last year Its not like all that oil will be on my food, over half of that stays on the pan. Also millilitres is not the same as grams. 12ml is lighter than 12 grams.
  • @
@Loha2005last year Honestly just leave a like 120 cals open for oil when you cook. The worst thing yiu can do is cook with refined vegetable oil like canola. That will make you even more fat.
  • @
@rbux1636last year 15ml of my olive oil is 80 cals so idk how that' s possible. 1
  • @
@Sam-oo1uolast year I' d much rather use actual oil than some chemical crap lacking nutrients that tastes awful. I typically use 5-10ml to cook around 4 servings, wouldn' t use 11ml just for one meal.
  • @
@k-ondoomer2 years ago Use a sprinkle to get the pan going then use vinegar or splashes of water.
  • @
@zfaki1919last year When we see these type of videos majority of the people take it as a bad food. They tend to avoid these heigh calorie food altogether. The truth is if its fit in your daily calorie intake it should be fine.
