From 1969, the first two films in the "Noises" series (not sure how many were made), both from Episode #0004 (November 13, 1969). The Street knew how to do weird, but this is just a head-scratcher. A kid puts on "magic glasses" that make invisible noise-makers appear (car horn, fire engine, a cat, etc.). CLICK ON SHOW MORE FOR INFO AND LINKS!
Why are they all invisible to everyone else?! It's eerily quiet other than the invisible sounds, too. What does it all mean?! At the end, we're prompted to try and make the noises ourselves. Weirdness. Great shots of 1960's New York, though, and fashions, so it's got that going for it.
The first film is with Chris, who sees/hears: a jack-hammer, a baby crying, a man coughing, a woman sneezing, a car honking, a telephone, and an electric typewriter.
In the second one, the very dapper Julio hears: a train (subway?), a cat (miraculously meowing without opening its mouth, lol!), a fire engine, a man sawing wood (who does DIY projects in the park?), and a man whistling.
